Printer cuts
Vistaprint calls its 6 × 4 in product the US standard. Its larger 7 × 5 in product is also listed. These are that printer’s finished sizes, shown with the long edge first.
Use the selected product’s template for artwork and bleed. Its stock determines thickness; the USPS ranges in the table do not describe either Vistaprint product.
USPS comparison limits
The USPS minimum, retail ceiling and commercial ceiling are included as physical rectangles for comparison. The retail and commercial labels describe different limits. For mailing requirements, consult current USPS guidance.
The minimum reference lists a thickness range of 0.007–0.016 in (0.18–0.41 mm); the larger commercial reference lists 0.009–0.016 in (0.23–0.41 mm). These are source-specific dimensional limits, not a paper-stock recommendation.
Questions
Is A6 the same as a 4 by 6 postcard?
No. A6 is 105 × 148 mm, which is 4.4 mm (0.17 in) shorter along the long edge and 3.4 mm (0.13 in) taller on the short edge than the 4-by-6 card. Use the index card comparison for the other ISO and inch sizes.
